King Design has been involved in a number of projects for CUNY (City University of New York). One of the more complex was the work we did for the new CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. Located at 219 West 40th St (previously home to The New York Herald Tribune), the space has been entirely redesigned and rebuilt.
Collaborating closely with New York based project manager Arthur King and Thomson Architects, we started by creating the visual identity for the college. The logo appears on exterior banners hung on the face of the building, reception and foyer walls, stationery and website.
An 28 square meter mural illustrates 5000 years of broadcasting history, spanning from Egyptian hieroglyphics to present day technology.
The corridor linking the educational facilities with the reception area is decorated with famous quotes made up of 3 dimensional lettering, making interesting reading as one passes through.
