During the spring of 2010, King Design was commisioned to create the design for a new, national energy marking program for buildings.
The program was initiated by the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy (Olje- og energidepartementet) and executed by NVE (Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate). This new, compulsory scheme is in effect as of July 2010.
Our approved design solution incorporates elements which represent energy efficiency (A to G) and the extent of renewable resources used to heat a particular building (red to green). The combination of a green house with the letter A obviously symbolizing the optimal solution.
As part of the initial launch campaign, and in collaboration with communications agency Axxept, King Design has produced various brochures for distribution to both private and corporate property owners.
The press plays an important role in raising public awareness.
