One of our original clients, King Design provided strategic design services to Kværner from 1988 to 1995, by which time the concern, believing that it had outgrown Norway, and after having acquired British conglomerate Trafalgar House, moved it’s communication activities to London.
In close collaboration with Kværner’s information department, our work initially involved re-defining and systemizing the entire way in which Kværner communicated company names and their connection to the Kværner group. A monolithic corporate identity was devised and implemented.
Later, when Kværner had expanded from some 30 companies to over 140, we introduced a supplementary system, designed to communicate the group’s five strategic business areas: Mechanical Engineering, Shipping, Shipbuilding, Pulping and Oil & Gas.
King Design also produced the Kværner Annual Report from 1991 to 1993.
